what is a russian manicure?

there’s a rising beauty trend known as the “russian manicure”, which is essentially a dry manicure originating from russia. unlike the traditional method of soaking hands in a manicure bowl, this technique involves using an e-file to delicately exfoliate the skin around the nails and eliminate any excess skin on the natural nails that might lead to lifting or peeling of product applications. this method is done for all my services to achieve the “perfect clean girl” aesthetic.

what’s the difference between acrylic and bio-gel?

acrylic is a nail product utilized in liquid and powder form. this is most commonly used in many nail salons. you will smell the fumes from the liquid, which is called monomer, being applied onto your nails. while acrylic offers exceptional durability, exposure to its fumes may lead to headaches and allergies for some individuals.

bio-gel is a nail product utilized in gel form that will solidify with exposed to LED or UV light. it’s consistency can vary from thick to thin, depending on the specific brand of product. bio-gel is more natural and lightweight compared to acrylic nails as it has less toxins to help promote nail health and growth.

both products are amazing, it just depending on your own personal preference and lifestyle. i prefer using bio-gel over acrylics due to the health benefits that bio-gel can provide. if done with the correct techniques, bio-gel is an amazing product for helping you grow and strengthen your natural nails.

do my nails need to breathe?

absolutely not. your nails are made up of keratin! they do not breathe!

does bio-gel ruin my nails?

the product will only damage your natural nails if you do not get them professionally removed or serviced by an experienced nail technician on time. it can also ruin your nails if you pick them off yourself. please, do not pick them off. i will give you tips to maintenance your nails in-between appointments without causing any harm to your natural nails.

why are my nails weak, soft, brittle, or damaged?

there are so many possibilities out there as to why your nails are damaged such as physical trauma, chemical exposure, improper nail care, nutritional deficiencies, underlying health conditions, and environment factors.

common reasons would be nutritional deficiencies and improper nail care, which is why it is important to choose an experienced nail technician who prioritizes the health of your natural nails to avoid excessive thinning.

how can I strengthen my nails to prevent them from breaking?
  1. your nails, hair and, skin absorbs the nutrients from your bloodstream, such as protein, biotin, vitamins A, C, and E, as well as minerals like calcium, iron, and zinc. maintaining a balanced diet and keeping up with vitamins, can help promote your overall nail health.
  2. keep your nails hydrated and moisturized as much as possible! use that cuticle oil! it will help prevent your nails from drying out and becoming brittle. after the pandemic, we increased our frequency of handwashing and sanitizing, resulting in a lot of dehydration.
  3. wearing gloves when washing dishes or cleaning, will help minimize the water and harsh chemical exposure to your skin and nails.
  4. nails are jewels, not tools! try be gentle with your hands and don’t use them to pry open boxes, pop cans, scratching hard surfaces, etc.
  5. most importantly, do not pick off any products on your nails. picking your nails can result to ripping and thinning out your natural nails. please, get them removed professionally.
where are you located?

i am close to the milliken go station and pacific mall. my address will be given after securing an appointment with me. i do not take walk-ins, appointment only.

how often do i need to do my nails?

for russian gel manicures, i suggest scheduling appointments every 2-3 weeks. bio-gel overlays and refills are best maintained with appointments every 3-4 weeks. as for regular or gel pedicures, i recommend booking sessions once every 4-6 weeks.

how do you clean your tools and sanitize?
is there free parking?

yes, there is free parking. you can park anywhere on the street, as long as you do not block anybody’s driveway.

can i bring a friend with me?

of course! please inform me ahead of time, and i’ll arrange a seat for your friend to join you. i am only one person though, so as long as your friend is respectful and doesn’t mind waiting for you, it’s no problem with me.

why are your prices so expensive?

i do not rush my services as i like to put a lot of TLC for your nails and skin. i want to make sure they will stay in great shape until your next appointment. i prioritize thorough attention to detail that benefits your nails and skin in the long-run, which naturally requires more patience and time. i enjoy discussing each step with you to ensure it matches your preferences, while creating a relaxing and peaceful session away from your daily routine.

what payments do you accept?

as for now, i only accept cash or e-transfer payments. tipping is not necessary; there’s no obligation to do so. as this is a private studio, i have set my prices fairly, considering the effort, care, and attention that i dedicate to all my clients. thank you.

i broke my nail! what do i do?

please contact me, and i’ll schedule you in asap! in case of emergencies until you’re able to reach me:

cracked nails: use nail glue, gorilla glue, crazy glue, whatever glue to hold the crack together until you are able to get into contact with me for a repair.

broken nail: if there is no open wounds, contact me and i’ll schedule you in for a repair asap.

bleeding, throbbing nail: please, soak your finger 2-3 times a day in salt water for 10 minutes and disinfect the wound with polysporin and aquaphor. depending on the damage, i will let you know what i can do to help you.

when can i get a facial or laser hair removal?
